Globan was a centralised ban management system we used on The BORG Collective's servers.

The project consisted of three components:

- Web frontend

An easy to use web panel enabling server admins to manage the common ban-list on a global basis (in contrary to normal per server management). Written in PHP.

- Linux daemon

Deployed on the gameserver hosts. Its function was to maintain synchronization between the web database and local ban list (two way communication).

- AMX Mod X plugin

Modified the default functioning of the ban system by using the extended local version of the ban list with individual comments for each ban.

Due to synchronization overhead (bandwidth problems) the project was phased out till a rewritten unified administration system (Unicluster Core) could be deployed. This did not happen however, owing to massive reduction of servers under our management.
